Realtor Broker Compensation
The listing agreement will spell out the listing agent’s compensation rate (usually a % of the purchase price), and will also spell out if the seller is considering paying the buyer-agent compensation. In the event that the seller IS paying buyer agent compensation, that will be noted on the listing agreement. Typical listing agent compensation is in the range of 2.5%-3.5%, though there are circumstances that are outside that range.
In the event that the seller IS NOT paying buyer agent compensation, the buyer agent’s compensation will be negotiated in the buyer agency agreement and will be the responsibility of the buyer in their closing costs. Buyer agents typically are paid between 2%-3%, though there are circumstances that are outside that range.
